The goal of TOKSPO, which means friendship in Tibetan, is to participate, side by side with our Zanskarpa friends, in the sustainable growth of the small village of Ichar situated in ZANSKAR and of its valley, an isolated area of the indian Himalayas, and, more particularly, to help with the children's schooling. The association Tokspo was founded in March 2007, by members of the French Alpine Club of Faverges, after several trips to Zanskar.

Help these children!! They are eager to learn!! Ichar school

Or are we (August 2009)? The association had originally set a goal, in consultation with our friends Zanskarpas, to allow the financing of the construction of a "Solar School" ("Solar School") according to local architecture that the village children to take courses in remedial Winter ("intuitions") under suitable conditions. The project, conducted on site by the association "Tokspo-Ichar" and funded by "Tokspo-France", is now done!   In October 2009, 5 classrooms and meeting space have been completed, and during the winter 2009-2010, 80 children Ichar and other villages in the valley Lungnak could follow the "intuitions" provided by 5 teachers paid by Tokspo.   For 2010, Tokspo decided to allow premises equipment of the "Solar School" so that they can serve internship during the school official (March-November) and they receive 20 30 children of the valley. The school Ichar government will increase its workforce, enabling it to acquire a higher administrative status. The wages of a cook and a supervisor will also be supported by the association.   The success of the action takes Tokspo course of the first commitment of its members in France, but it relies mainly on motivation Ichar people who are the initiators and architects of these operations . Tokspo-France only helps the financial resources to implement projects of Tokspo-Ichar.   With modest resources, on limited objectives, it is proof that genuine international solidarity is possible and effective!

HIMALAYA SOLAR Vote for our project site Http://www.team-total.com/fr/vote.html?bourse=Air: What is Solar Himalayas ?   There are seven students. Six of the School of Geology in Nancy, and physical measurements of the IUT of Grenoble. We based solar Himalayas during the month of January 2011.   But why the association did she come about? Any part of a collective will to mount a humanitarian project. Having heard of the association Tokspo, and seduced by the action it has undertaken to Ichar, we decided to ask the head of a mission Tokspo France if we could be entrusted. Now it happens that the school built by Tokspo will need a power supply. Therefore we decided to take part in this adventure and have founded our association. What mission? And with what means ?     Our main goal is to raise money to help finance a system of generating electricity. This will serve to feed a few computers and ensure the lighting of the school Ichar.     The device that we would set up would consist of a few solar panels and a wind turbine to ensure sufficient power on days of low sunlight.     To find the money we need we are exploring several leads. Applications for grants to businesses that want to join our project Establishment of a cafeteria in the school of Nancy Organisation of specific events.   Once the funds together, we will contact a company which will install everything.   We will also make the village Ichar summer 2011 to meet members of Tokspo Ichar, discover their village and their culture.   For more humanitarian assistance, our project is first and foremost vehicle for exchange and discovery.
